Jason Law is a dedicated public servant and community leader with over 25 years of law enforcement experience, serving as a Lieutenant Colonel and one of the region’s top police officials. Since becoming Mayor of Lake Saint Louis in 2021, he has overseen a significant 35% expansion of the police department, which has led to a remarkable 60% reduction in crime. Under his leadership, the city achieved a substantial 46% reduction in property taxes by paying off bonds early, positioning Lake Saint Louis as one of the few debt-free cities in the region. Additionally, Jason has been instrumental in fostering a business-friendly environment, attracting $150 million in private investments and new construction.
Before his tenure as mayor, Jason served as an Alderman for Ward 3 from 2014 to 2021. His unwavering commitment to public safety, fiscal responsibility, and community growth continues to guide his leadership. Since settling in Lake Saint Louis in 2008, Jason and his wife Kristin have proudly raised their children—Harper, Savannah, and Phillip—cherishing the vibrant community they call home.
Career Highlights
St. Louis County Police
Jason began his law enforcement career in 1998 and currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel overseeing the Bureau of Drug Enforcement. Throughout his tenure, he has worked in various precincts, including the Affton Southwest, North County, West County, and the City of Jennings Precincts. His exemplary service earned him 14 departmental awards and commendations.
Saint Louis Gateway Strike Force
(2015-2023) As Director of the St. Louis Gateway Strike Force, Jason played a crucial role in establishing this collaborative initiative, uniting 50 agencies across local, state, and federal levels with the primary mission of reducing violent crime. Under his leadership, the Strike Force secured a federal grant of $3.6 million, making it one of only 19 federally funded strike forces nationwide.
Lieutenant Colonel, Division of Special Operations
In addition to his other responsibilities, Jason leads the St. Louis Regional Police Aviation Program and commands St. Louis County’s Tactical Operations Unit, K-9 Units, Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT), and Special Response Units. Through these roles, he is committed to enhancing public safety and ensuring the security of the St. Louis region.
